The African Hebrew Israelite community from Dimona was founded in Chicago in the late Sixties. Since immigrating to Israel, in addition to the familiar Passover holiday, they are celebrating another Passover holiday called "New World Passover," To mark their emancipation from slavery, the modern day exodus - as blacks in America. The resemblance between the two narratives (Slavery in both Egypt and America) has led me to create a digital wall painting that tells the story of slavery in America, inspired by ancient Egyptian art. The painting is consist of "scenes" which by clicking on each the user dives into a detailed page explaining that period in the history.
